Building the Night Scented Garden (photos below)

In 2008 we applied to Haringey's 'Making the Difference Fund' for funds to build a Night Scented Garden for bats at the Paddock, (a Community Nature Garden). We were successful. We turned to BTCV for help and they kindly agreed to build the Garden for us.

Designed with wheelchair access in mind, the wood-edged serpentine path measures 1.8 meters wide. To one side, there will be a small sensory, 'cottage-type' garden, with fragrant flowers and shrubs and also two small wildflower meadows, one to each side of the path.

A huge thank you to Cathy, Alex and Jill of BTCV and all the volunteers who have made this Garden possible

This isn't a small project, so not everything can be achieved at once, but these photos show the progress so far. This first phase will be completed by Tuesday, 3rd March 2009. We hope to add a herb garden and a bog garden at some point in the future.

Volunteers have made this Garden possible - if you are interested in volunteering for future phases of its development, we are eager to hear from you.

Bat boxes have been added to the garden - they were very kindly donated by Wildlife World.
