Bat walk leading and detector training
Public Bat Walk 'leader training'
We run regular public bat walks and monitor for bat activity at a number of locations along the Lee Valley - feeding data back to the Bat Conservation Trust.

By training others, we hope to have a better coverage of the Lee Valley, for example: more bat walks and surveying for bat numbers.

We provide FREE* training to:

- our members
- the public..
- environment-oriented community groups
- council officers, (Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Officers)

*all training is free until further notice

Topics included:

- how to use a bat detector
- ultrasound and bat frequencies
- UK species and those in the Lee Valley
- habitat, flight pattern and foraging behaviour
- diet
- roosts and hibernation
- birth and pups
- biology
